Oil Spill Response Limited has taken over the management of a response base on the west coast of Shetland. The facility, based at Scalloway, houses equipment that can be rapidly deployed in the event of an incident, either offshore or nearshore. 

Oil Spill Response Limited is partnering with two leading environmental consulting firms, CTEH and CSA Ocean Sciences (CSA), to provide its members with additional specialist monitoring and sampling (M&S) services. These services cover the fields of human health, marine environmental monitoring, impact assessment and complementary spill response skills such as Shoreline Clean-up Assessment Technique (SCAT), crisis management and Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping.

OSRL has announced the signing of a new agreement with Marine Environmental Solutions Limited (MES), an offshore services specialist, to enhance oil spill preparedness and response capabilities for OSRL members within the North Sea (initially Scottish waters).  

Following a major update, Maritech, the maritime software and digital application specialist, has launched the third generation of its emergency planning tool, Sea/response – enhancing users’ ability to respond to an offshore incident quickly and effectively. 

The updates are the result of an ongoing collaboration between Oil Spill Response, its SWIS subscribers and the technology experts at Maritech, which develops the Sea/ platform, including the Sea/response module.

OSRL can confirm that it has been mobilised to Sri Lanka in response to the incident relating to the container ship, the X-Press Pearl. The vessel is currently 10km offshore, approximately 12 km north of the capital city, Colombo.

Oil Spill Response Limited (OSRL) announced today that ship-to-ship transfer specialist, STS Marine Solutions (STS), has joined its growing roster of shipping industry members, securing access to a range of global preparedness and response services. 

Wild Well Control (WWC) and Oil Spill Response Limited (OSRL) have signed a strategic alliance agreement, which provides an increased capability to the Oil & Gas industry.

OSRL now offers SWIS members the option to participate in a mutual aid agreement that will provide a framework for requesting access to additional personnel and assistance from other participating members during a response.

OSRL has announced the introduction of Water Column Monitoring equipment and services to support its Subsea Well Intervention Service (SWIS) capping members.
